Sylvia Perez
Sylvia Perez co-anchors ABC 7 Chicago’s #1 rated 11 A.M. Newscast, and is the station’s medical reporter, covering daily health and medical investigative stories for the 4 P.M. and 10 P.M. Newscasts. She joined ABC 7 as weekend anchor and reporter in June 1989.
Prior to joining ABC 7, Perez worked in Houston and Amarillo, Texas; Denver, Colorado; and Lawton, Oklahoma where she won several awards for her reporting.
Perez and her “Healthbeat” team of producers have been honored with two Chicago Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences; the Peter Lisagor Award, from the Chicago Headline Club; and the Silver Dome Award, from the Illinois Broadcasters Association.
